Abstract

The purpose of this article is to describe the methodological procedures of the educational interventions related to physical activity applied in the students and the expected results of the Extension Program University-School: interdisciplinary practices for health promotion and chronic disease prevention in students. The program was attended multidisciplinary courses in physical education, physical therapy, nursing and pharmacy. To participate in the project were selected two schools of the urban area of Uruguaiana/RS. One of them was considered intervention school and the other one was considered control school. Students from the intervention school, after parental consent, underwent a series of evaluations. From reviews of interventions in specific areas were performed. Interventions related to physical activity were informative lectures and blitz between classes. It is expected that from the interventions students have a greater understanding of the benefits of an active lifestyle since adolescence and that avoidance of physical education students of the classes participating in the project decreases.
