Abstract

This article describes the activities performed during operation of the extension project "Promotion of Oral Health Service Users Hemodialysis clinics Institute of Renal Therapy Benefit Evangelical Association in Minas Gerais”. In two months in 2011, eighteen UFMG students of Dentistry examined 650 patients in the environment in which we perform hemodialysis. Patients who presented altered mucosa, tooth decay and unsatisfactory prostheses were referred to the Faculty of Dentistry or Health Centre nearest to his residence. Results were presented at two international conferences in dentistry and one in nursing by students and AEBMG staff. It was concluded that, despite its short duration, this project was able to generate products that contribute to improving the oral health status of these patients and for the scientific and solidarity training of dental student.
